Firefighters are currently responding to a «significant» gas explosion in a residential street in Nottinghamshire. Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service (NFRS) is working with emergency services from nearby Derbyshire to address the incident at a house in John Street, Worksop. The house has been significantly damaged in the gas explosion.

Videos shared on social media illustrate the extent of the damage, with the front of a terraced house blown out and neighboring properties suffering window damage. In addition to this incident, NFRS is also dealing with an industrial fire in Holgate Road, The Meadows, Nottingham. Eight engines have been dispatched to the scene to tackle the fire.

It is important for the public to stay away from these areas as emergency services work to manage the situations. At this time, firefighters have not confirmed any connection between the gas explosion and the industrial fire. Updates on these incidents will be provided as more information becomes available.
