A man shot dead in northwest London has been identified as 55-year-old Simon Whyte. Detectives from the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Team are urging witnesses, information, and anyone with dashcam footage to come forward after the incident in Stonebridge, Brent, on Friday evening. They are particularly interested in hearing from a small group who were gathered nearby at the time.
Detective Chief Inspector Neil John expressed his condolences to Mr. Whyte’s family and friends during this challenging period. The investigation remains a top priority, and he urged anyone who witnessed the incident or has information, including dashcam footage, to contact authorities promptly.
Police received a call just after 9.30 pm on Friday regarding a shooting in West End Close. Officers provided emergency first aid, and the London Ambulance Service responded, but unfortunately, Mr. Whyte passed away at the scene. No arrests have been made.
