Police have initiated a murder probe following the demise of a 66-year-old gentleman six days subsequent to an assault outside a rural tavern.

The authorities of Leicestershire disclosed that a 36-year-old individual originally apprehended on suspicion of inflicting serious bodily harm has now been re-apprehended on suspicion of murder.

Law enforcement officers were summoned to the pub around 9:45 pm last Sunday.

The police force indicated that the victim was outdoors when he was struck and suffered a severe head injury.
