The dissident backbencher turned unlikely Labour leader, Jeremy Corbyn, and the firebrand left-wing Labour MP with a strong online presence, Zarah Sultana, seemed like the perfect combination on paper. Together with the support of four other independent MPs, they aimed to establish a credible party called Your Party. However, since its launch, the left-wing movement has faced criticism and frustration due to its perceived lack of organization.

Issues arose when Jeremy Corbyn’s team was unaware of Zarah Sultana’s announcement to leave the Labour Party and when she initiated a membership drive without full consent. This exposed weaknesses in the party’s structure and diverted attention from its core values. Accusations of a «sexist boys club» and claims of sidelining Zarah Sultana by the male MPs added to the internal turmoil.

Attempts to unify at events in Liverpool and The World Transformed conference were met with skepticism by some attendees. Although Corbyn acknowledged past errors, doubts lingered about the party’s cohesion and effectiveness. Layla, a disillusioned former Labour supporter, criticized the disorganization and lack of transparency within Your Party, considering a switch to the Greens led by Zack Polanski.

Despite Polanski’s rise in popularity and the Green Party’s recent surge in support, collaboration with Your Party remains uncertain. While both parties share common goals, differences in ideology and approach may hinder partnership. Internal divisions among independent MPs involved in Your Party also raise concerns among voters, signaling potential challenges ahead.

The Your Party rally, while well-attended, left lingering doubts about its credibility and unity. A closing rendition of John Lennon’s «Imagine» emphasized the need for the party to address its internal issues and present a cohesive front to gain public trust and support.
