A man has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of a 19-year-old student. Carla Georgescu was found dead at her University of Lancashire accommodation in Victoria Street, Preston, on Thursday afternoon, Lancashire Constabulary said. Officers attended the address after reports of a «sudden death.» Her death is being treated as suspicious. Ms Georgescu was in her second year, studying clinical psychology. The force said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the investigation.
A University of Lancashire spokesperson said staff and students were «deeply saddened by the tragic loss.» «The wellbeing and safety of our students and staff is our priority,» said their statement.
