Following a tragic crash in Lancashire, three men have been apprehended after a motorcyclist and a pedestrian lost their lives.
The incident occurred when a BMW motorbike collided with two pedestrians on the A6 Preston Road in Clayton-Le-Woods at around 10.30pm on Thursday.
The motorcyclist, a man in his 50s from Macclesfield in Cheshire, and one of the pedestrians, a man in his 60s from Clayton-Le-Woods, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The other pedestrian, a woman in her 60s, was transported to the hospital and is currently in a «serious but stable» condition, as confirmed by Lancashire Police.
Three men who were in the vicinity at the time of the collision were taken into custody on Friday, the authorities disclosed.
The arrested individuals include a 53-year-old man from Whittle-le-Woods, Lancashire; a 57-year-old man from Middlewich, Cheshire; and a 46-year-old man from Congleton, Cheshire.
All three suspects were detained on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and have been released pending further investigation.

Detective Sergeant Joe Ghigi, of Lancashire Police, remarked in a statement: «This tragic collision resulted in the loss of two lives, and our inquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
«Our thoughts are with the woman undergoing treatment, as well as the families of the deceased individuals.
«Though three arrests have been made, our investigation is still active.
