A tragic incident involving an electric bike, a pedestrian, and a car has resulted in the death of a teenager and serious injuries to another individual. The collision occurred in Staniforth Road in the Darnall area of Sheffield, prompting emergency services to respond swiftly after 4.50pm on Wednesday.
A 16-year-old pedestrian was transported to the hospital, but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries despite receiving emergency care. The family of the deceased has been notified and is receiving support from specialized officers.
Additionally, an 18-year-old man, the rider of the electric bike, is currently hospitalized with severe injuries. The car involved in the incident, a grey Audi, reportedly fled the scene. Law enforcement authorities have initiated an investigation into the collision, leading to the arrest of a man and a woman in their 40s on suspicion of assisting an offender. They are currently in custody.
