An individual has been apprehended and confined following an incident at a medical facility that resulted in injuries to six individuals.
The authorities stated that a 20-year-old individual was taken into custody at Newton Community Hospital in Newton-le-Willows, Merseyside, after the occurrence on Tuesday.
The individual was apprehended on suspicion of six charges including section 18 wounding, affray, and criminal damage.
Initially, he was transported to a police station in Merseyside and subsequently detained under Section 136 of the Mental Health Act.
The injured individuals are receiving treatment for head lacerations, injuries to their arms and hands, and bruising after an individual with a metal bar was refused a hospital appointment by the authorities.
All individuals are reported to be in stable condition, according to a spokesperson from Merseyside Police.
A metal bar allegedly used during the incident has been seized for forensic analysis, as per the police.

Law enforcement officers were summoned to the medical facility shortly after midday on Tuesday following a report that an individual had become «increasingly agitated» when denied an appointment.
Superintendent Sarah Rotherham stated: «We recognize that this incident may have caused unease within the local community, and I trust that the public finds reassurance in the heightened police presence.
«I urge anyone with concerns to approach one of our officers or contact their local police station.»
