Approximately 100 firefighters are currently battling a blaze in a nine-storey building located in London’s White City.

Fifteen fire engines have also been dispatched to the building on Wood Lane, with the fire primarily affecting floors towards the upper levels of the structure, as reported by the London Fire Brigade.

The building in question is the former BBC Television Centre, serving as the broadcaster’s headquarters until the year 2013.

Due to the ongoing fire incident, Wood Lane has been closed off to traffic, and individuals are advised to steer clear of the area.

Initial reports of the fire were received shortly after 3am, prompting the mobilization of crews from Hammersmith, North Kensington, Kensington, Chiswick, and neighboring fire stations to the scene.

As a measure to combat the fire from height, two 32-meter turntable ladders are being utilized as water towers, according to the brigade.

The cause behind the fire outbreak remains unknown at this time.

An update provided around 6.40am confirmed that the blaze is predominantly impacting floors towards the upper section of the building.
